What the numbers suggest

  • Prices on owned systems run close to the average in the same state and year.
  • It mostly installs systems homeowners own.
  • A shorter track record (6 years in records) means more uncertainty about long-term warranty support. Ask who backs the workmanship warranty if the company closes.
  • Batteries are a large share of its installs. Check whether a battery actually pays off for you before agreeing to one.

Before you sign with any installer

  1. Verify the contractor license and look for complaints with your state board and attorney general.
  2. Get at least three quotes and compare them in our quote comparison tool.
  3. Ask who does the installation (their own crews or subcontractors) and who backs the workmanship warranty.
  4. Read our solar sales red flags.
